Piaggio Aero's new P180 Avanti II in Ferrari's livery displayed at Dubai Air Show 2005

Piaggio Aero’s new P180 Avanti II high-speed business turboprop displayed at Dubai Air Show 2005 sporting the distinctive colours of Ferrari. Just like Ferrari, the new Avanti boasts advanced technology, innovative Italian design and unrivalled comfort.

Ferrari’s prancing horse has been proudly showing on the P180 Avanti since 2000 since when the Marenello racing team including, 7-time world champion racing driver Michael Schumacher, regularly fly on a P-180 to F1 races around Europe. Michael also wears the Piaggio Aero logo on his race helmet.

It is no coincidence that Piero Ferrari, Vice President of Ferrari S.p.A, is also the President of the Board of Directors of Piaggio Aero Industries and he is leading Piaggio’s representation in Dubai this week.

“We are proud to present at the Dubai Air Show the new P180 Avanti Ferrari,” Piero Ferrari, said. “Our new aircraft, like Ferrari’s cars, represents the excellence and the world-wide success of the technological products made in Italy. Piaggio Aero and Ferrari are synonymous with success, efficiency, technology and unrivalled Italian design. The Scuderia (Team) Ferrari is proving this outstanding synergy by flying the new Piaggio Aero P-180 Avanti II.”

The brand new Avanti II on display at the Dubai Air Show features a fully integrated new Pro Line 21 avionics system, making the Avanti II the most up-to-date and still the fastest turboprop in production, more efficient and more flexible than most business jets in its class.

One hundred of Piaggio Aero’s flagship product, the Avanti, have already been delivered, with 106 aircraft on order for the new version Avanti II, with a backlog worth 640 million US$.
