Geelong, Australia
Piaggio Aero at Avalon 2011, the biggest Australian airshow

Piaggio Aero will be one of the protagonists of the highly acclaimed Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition.

Avalon has a long standing reputation as one of the largest and most comprehensive events of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

In March 2011, Avalon Airport near Geelong in Victoria will play host to a showcase of aviation and aerospace industry exhibitors, an outstanding display of military and commercial and business.

The International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition will be held over six days, from Tuesday 1 March to Sunday 6 March.

Piaggio Aero?s participation at Avalon represents a huge opportunity because Australian economy is robust and industry experts predict a return to favorable conditions during 2011.
As a primary market in the Asia Pacific region, Australia could see growth through the medium-term.

The P.180 Avanti II has been certified by the Australian Authority (CASA, Civil Aviation Safety Authority) last year and it's now able to operate in Australia. First deliveries are scheduled for 2011.

Due to the huge distance between urban centers, Australia is a very promising market for general aviation; besides, Piaggio Aero has already demonstrated the value of the Air Ambulance version of the P.180 Avanti II during a test campaign with the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, the emergency health care fly service active in Australia since 1928.

Piaggio Aero will display its P.180 Avanti II Executive/ Med.Evac version aircraft in collaboration with Susi Air. Susi Air is a scheduled and charter airline based in Pangandaran, West Java, Indonesia; its fleet operates three P.180 aircraft and recently signed an agreement for one further option.

The Piaggio Aero P.180 Avanti II offers the speed of a light jet aircraft, the comfort of a large, quiet, midsize Jet and real stand-up cabin, with fuel efficiencies that are nearly 40% higher than most business jets. Additionally because of the aircraft's excellent takeoff and landing performance and perfect pressurization, the Piaggio Aero P180 Avanti II is one of the most widely used aircraft for public services such as air ambulance and air rescue and also flight inspection, calibration and surveillance.

Piaggio Aero will be present at Avalon with its stand (# EW-E11); besides, visitors will be able to discover P.180 Avanti II aircraft at the static display (position TA-14).
